Project Overview
Chuan Lim Construction is on a mission to transform its corporate headquarters into a sustainable, energy-efficient facility aligned with Singapore’s Greenmark Super Low Energy (SLE) certification standards. The site comprises two interconnected buildings—one with 6 floors and another with 9 floors—linked via a shared ramp that features high-intensity lighting.
The company aims to achieve net-zero energy status in the near future, starting with digital energy management and leading into renewable generation via solar photovoltaics (PV).
Client Objectives
During early project consultations, the client outlined a two-phased plan:
- To comply with Greenmark SLE requirements and establish a comprehensive energy baseline.
- Install solar panels by year-end to target a 60% improvement in energy efficiency, as mandated by the certification.
Given their aggressive timeline, the client required rapid deployment of the EMS to capture accurate data and build actionable reports for certification submission.
Challenges on Site
- 🟢 Manual Meter Readings: Facility staff were taking manual readings from a limited number of energy meters, making energy tracking time-consuming and incomplete.
- 🟢 Lack of Granular Visibility: Without a full breakdown of energy usage across assets and areas, opportunities for optimization—such as the lighting system on the ramp—were difficult to identify.
Urgency for Certification Readiness: To meet Greenmark SLE’s criteria, the client needed both reliable real-time monitoring and standardized sustainability reporting within a tight window.
Resync’s Approach
To support Chuan Lim Construction’s SLE and Net-Zero ambitions, Resync deployed a data-driven solution tailored to both compliance and long-term optimization:
✅ Integrated Energy Management System
Resync’s EMS platform enables real-time monitoring and analytics across both buildings. It automatically tracks energy usage by floor, zone, and key equipment (e.g., ramp lighting), surfacing inefficiencies and anomalies that were previously invisible.
✅ Certification-Aligned Reporting
Custom reports are being developed to meet Greenmark SLE guidelines, ensuring that baseline data and energy efficiency gains—particularly from solar integration—can be documented and verified.
✅ Preliminary Net-Zero Energy Analysis
Resync initiated a Net-Zero feasibility study to evaluate the potential of solar PV and energy storage systems. This includes:
- 🟢 Energy Load Profiling: Mapping consumption patterns to understand demand peaks.
- 🟢 Solar Resource Assessment: Evaluating rooftop solar viability and sizing.
- 🟢 Battery Storage Modeling: Exploring storage solutions for load shifting and energy independence.
What’s Next
With the EMS infrastructure in place, Chuan Lim Construction will soon begin solar panel installation. Once operational, Resync will track and verify performance improvements to support Greenmark SLE certification and future sustainability initiatives.
